- Flexible Spending Accounts
P&A Flexible Spending Accounts - A Flexible Spending Account (FSA) is an account that allows you to set aside pre-tax dollars to pay for qualified healthcare or dependent day care expenses. You choose how much money you want to contribute to an FSA at the beginning of each plan year and can access these funds throughout the year. All FSA contributions are pre-tax, which means you save money by not paying taxes on the amounts you set aside to pay for eligible healthcare and dependent care expenses.
Pay for eligible expenses such as prescriptions, 医生诊所收费, health insurance deductibles and coinsurance for you, your spouse or eligible dependents.
There are two types available:- 医疗账户 - You may contribute between $120 and $2,650 a year to reimburse yourself for eligible out-of-pocket healthcare expenses, 包括免赔额, copays or coinsurance not reimbursed by any medical, dental, vision or prescription plans for you, your spouse or your tax dependents.

Two options are available for FSU regular employees and contingent II employees.

All University employees are eligible for membership in the State 员工 Credit Union (SECU). This is a financial institution mutually owned and operated by State employees. SECU does not have a branch on campus, but an ATM machine is available on the 2nd floor of the Lane Center.

The University System of Maryland (USM) supports our employees and their families by providing tuition remission and tuition reimbursement for eligible employees, employee dependents and retirees to enroll in academic programs and courses at any of the USM institutions.
An employee is generally eligible for tuition remission for education if:
- They are a “Regular” Nonexempt or Exempt Staff or Faculty employee
- Have FTE employment of greater than 50%
